History of NHAEOP
On April 22, 1939, at Carpenter Hotel in Manchester,
20 secretaries representing four school districts met to organize
the New Hampshire Association of School Secretaries. Since that
day, more than sixty-five years ago, NHAEOP has grown to over 330
members, representing most of the public school districts in New
Hampshire, many of the private schools and the State Department
of Education. The name was changed recently to better reflect our
new membership: New Hampshire Association of Office Professionals.
Our Mission
Our mission is to provide our members with the leadership
and organization to recognize and take advantage of professional
and personal growth opportunities. We pursue these through specifically
designed certification programs and quality training and by establishing
a network for sharing information and ideas, recognizing achievements
and promoting fellowship.
Fall Meeting 2007
October 25, 2007 found 41 NHAEOP members coming together at the Puritan Back Room in Manchester for the annual Fall Meeting. After sharing in a wonderful buffet meal, the ladies reviewed reports from the various NHAEOP committees and held a brief business meeting. As part of a community outreach, everyone had brought food items and cash donations to be given to the NH Food Bank. We proudly presented Manchester's representative, Sarah, with $155 in cash donations and 320 pounds of food items.
Doris Bergeron from Chalifour's in Manchester came to demonstrate how to put together a lovely fall floral cornucopia, which was given to one of the ladies present via a drawing. Chalifour's also provided gifts for everyone present ~ gourmet trail mix and soy candles. Two other items, a pretty pumpkin/floral arrangement and a large gourmet gift basket, were donated by Chalifour's and were raffled to those present.
The attendees brought raffle items from their districts, and $300 was raised from the sale of raffle tickets. This revenue will be added to the raffle revenue from the May conference and given to graduating high school seniors as scholarship awards.
